CUCINA is inspired from an old dish cloth that had simply the best hand-feel for a kitchen. It turns out that although challenging, our talented weaving mill was able to perfect the window-pane design and the waffle-weave balance brilliantly. The real difficulty was in working with our dyer and wash house to recreate the vintage hand while making CUCINA super-extra-absorbent. No Enzymes. No softener. So how did we create CUCINA? With lots of good old fashioned trial and error.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eDesign\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eWHY DID WE DESIGN CUCINA?\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhy? Because it is fun to find an old textile and bring it back to life. We are “fabric-first” at MATTEO always. Old ways and new days for ¼ century now. Quite simply, we wanted to create something extra-absorbent for drying your dishes or for a messy picnic spill. And we wanted fun colors to bring your kitchen to life and adding some spring freshness to dish-drying. As with all of our fabrics, we use them ourselves. So why did we really design CUCINA? \u003cbr\u003eWE LOVE IT 🎩\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eCare Details\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eWash\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWash should be separated into light \u0026amp; dark colors. We recommend a lukewarm wash cycle with a gentle detergent \u0026amp; a cool rinse.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDo not use bleach on linen. Avoid using products that contain whitening agents such as chlorine bleach, alpha hydroxy acids and benzoyl peroxide on garment-dyed items. The reactive dyes used for garment-dyeing are not resistant to these whitening agents.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe largest challenge with garment-dyeing is the truth that it is an art, and not a science. We must allow for a shade variation of +\/- 10% from dye-lot to dye-lot.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/matteola.com\/garment-dyeing\"\u003eLearn more about Garment-Dyeing.\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eDrying\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTumble dry with low heat.
