The Organic Cotton Sateen Duvet Cover is 100% Egyptian cotton, woven with 60's yarn in a sateen weave at 300 thread count. It is garment-washed at MATTEO's dye-house using a special washing process that produces a soft, lived-in hand without requiring ironing. The sateen weave gives the face of the fabric a smooth, silky feel while the garment-washing ensures it continues to soften with each wash.

Thread count measures the density of the weave, not the quality of the cotton used or the balance of the construction. At 300 thread count, the Organic Cotton Sateen Duvet Cover uses 60's Egyptian cotton yarn, where fiber quality and the garment-washing process determine the end softness more than density alone. Wash lights and darks separately. Use a lukewarm cycle with a gentle detergent and a cool rinse; do not overload the machine, as excess agitation stresses the long cotton fibers. Garment-dyeing is a hand-craft process rather than a controlled industrial one, and MATTEO allows for a shade variation of plus or minus 10% between dye lots.
