Paisley Quilted Coverlet

The Paisley Quilted Coverlet is constructed from 100% linen with a poly batting layer sandwiched between two layers of MATTEO's Vintage Linen fabric, finished with a 1/4" linen binding. The linen is derived from the flax plant, which means it grows softer with every wash and holds up to years of regular use. It is garment-washed and dyed using non-toxic dyes at MATTEO's Los Angeles facility.

Linen is one of the strongest natural fiber choices for hot sleepers. Because linen is naturally moisture-absorbent and insulating, it regulates temperature in both directions: it keeps you cool when warm and retains warmth when cool. The lightweight construction of the Paisley Quilted Coverlet, with its poly batting and two-layer linen shell, gives you enough warmth for most seasons without trapping heat.

The Paisley Quilted Coverlet is available in Queen and King. The Queen measures 90 x 95 inches (229 x 241 cm) and the King measures 108 x 95 inches (274 x 241 cm). Both sizes are sold through the MATTEOX clearance page in limited quantities.

The quilting is a 10-inch square pattern, a deliberate departure from the standard box quilts more commonly seen in bedding. The Paisley motif itself is of Persian origin, though the name comes from the Scottish town of Paisley, which reproduced the repeating teardrop design on textiles for decades. MATTEO's version keeps the ornamentation subtle so it reads as a visual layer on the bed rather than a dominant print.

Wash the coverlet in a lukewarm cycle with a gentle detergent and a cool rinse, separating light and dark colors. Do not use bleach or any products containing whitening agents such as chlorine bleach, alpha hydroxy acids, or benzoyl peroxide, as these will break down the reactive garment dyes. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly to reduce wrinkling; line drying gives the best results. Linen is naturally hypoallergenic and antimicrobial, which makes the Paisley Quilted Coverlet a solid option for sensitive skin. The non-toxic dyes used in MATTEO's garment-dyeing process avoid harsh chemical residues. The garment-washing treatment also means the fabric arrives pre-softened, with no stiff sizing finish that could irritate skin.

Because garment-dyeing is an art rather than an exact science, pieces purchased in the same color from different dye lots may vary slightly in tone.
