Tat Cotton Duvet Set
Keep your comforter clean and your shams looking fresh. Duvet Sets make outfitting your bed with our Tat Linen fabric, a combination of our best-selling Vintage Linen fabric and a tattered ruffle border, simple. You even save 10% when you buy in a set versus buying the items individually.
A Duvet Set contains one duvet cover and (depending on your bed size) one or two pillowcases. Check the Size details to see what is included in each set size.
Please note: all items in your Duvet Set are garment dyed together in the color you choose‚ and thus, they will all be the same color. To mix and match colors, please order items separately in the colors of your choice.
- 100% linen with ruffled border
- Garment-washed and dyed using non-toxic dyes
FRAY-EDGE MATERIAL
Gentle Washing Only
Always wash frayed or raw-edge fabric on a gentle or delicate cycle using cold water. Avoid harsh agitation, which can accelerate fraying beyond the intended design.
Use a Mesh Laundry Bag
Place the sham inside a mesh laundry bag before washing to reduce friction and prevent threads from catching on other items or machine parts.
Mild Detergents
Use mild, non-enzymatic detergents. Avoid bleach or strong chemicals, which can weaken the fabric and increase fraying.
Air Dry
Lay flat to dry or hang dry. Do not tumble dry, as the tumbling action can rapidly deteriorate the raw edges. If necessary, fluff briefly on low or no heat to soften the fabric after air drying.
Trim with Care
Over time, some additional fraying may naturally occur. Gently trim loose threads with sharp scissors—never pull them, as that can worsen the damage.
Avoid Ironing Over Edges
If ironing is needed, avoid pressing directly on the frayed edges, as the heat can cause further unraveling or distortion. Use a pressing cloth and low heat setting if ironing the body of the sham.
Wash
Wash should be separated into light & dark colors. Do not overload machine as this will damage long cotton fibers. We recommend a lukewarm wash cycle with a gentle detergent & a cool rinse.
Bleach may be used on white cotton bed linens only. Avoid using products that contain whitening agents such as chlorine bleach, alpha hydroxy acids and benzoyl peroxide on garment-dyed items. The reactive dyes used for garment-dyeing are not resistant to these whitening agents.
The largest challenge with garment-dyeing is the truth that it is an art, and not a science. We must allow for a shade variation of +/- 10% from dye-lot to dye-lot.

Drying
Tumble dry with low heat.Remove bed linens promptly from the machine to reduce wrinkling. For best results, line dry.
Ironing
We at MATTEO tend to prefer a lived-in look, as such, you don't find us ironing our sheets too frequently. If you prefer a crisp looking bed, our cotton bed linens should be pressed while slightly damp using the Lightweight Cotton or Medium setting.
