Riviera Sheet Towel
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Riviera Sheet Towel made of, and how is it different from a standard bath towel?
The Riviera Sheet Towel is 100% Brazilian cotton, woven at 645 GSM with a two-warp construction: one warp for the ground, one for the pile. The 2-ply pile yarn gives it greater absorbency and durability than single-ply terry, while the 35 x 69 inch dimensions make it larger than a standard bath towel for full-body coverage.
Is the Riviera Sheet Towel safe for people with sensitive skin?
Yes. MATTEO garment-washes and dyes the Riviera collection using non-toxic dyes, with no harsh chemical finishes. Garment-dyeing uses reactive dyes applied after weaving, so the cotton fibers are not treated with the bleaching or brightening agents commonly found in mass-market towels.
How should I wash and care for the Riviera Sheet Towel?
Machine wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent and a cool rinse; separate light and dark colors and avoid overloading the machine, which can stress the long cotton fibers. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly, or line dry for best results. Avoid chlorine bleach, alpha hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide on garment-dyed colors, as these will degrade the reactive dye.
What colors is the Riviera Sheet Towel available in?
The Riviera Sheet Towel is available in 15 garment-dyed colors: White, Moon, Off White, Greige, Salt, Iris, Mica, Oat, Bay, Alpine, Coal, Fig, Bark, Night, and Smoke. Because each piece is garment-dyed individually, a natural shade variation of up to 10% between dye lots is normal and part of the process.
