Riviera Swatch

The Riviera Swatch is 100% Brazilian cotton, woven at 645 GSM using a two-warp construction: one warp for the ground and one for the pile. We use a special 2-ply yarn in the pile, which produces the absorbency and durability the Riviera collection is known for. Each swatch is garment-washed and dyed with non-toxic reactive dyes in Los Angeles.

Each swatch is 10 x 10 inches (25 x 25 cm), which gives you a substantial sample to assess both color and hand-feel before ordering full Riviera towels. That size is enough to hold against your bathroom tile or linen closet and see how the fabric sits in natural light.

Garment-dyeing is an art, not a science. We allow for a shade variation of +/- 10% from dye lot to dye lot, which means color on a screen is an approximation, not a guarantee. Wash in lukewarm water with a gentle detergent, separating light and dark colors. Do not overload the machine, as this stresses the long cotton fibers. Tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly to reduce wrinkling; line drying gives the best results. Avoid chlorine bleach, alpha hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide on any garment-dyed color, as these agents break down reactive dyes.
